While the Award Processor does in-depth proocessing for the Triple Key Award, this tool does basic counting that should agree with the award processor in most cases as long as your log file contains accurate information.
Select "Triple Key Type Counts" from the Tools Menu.
This option will open the TKA Key Type Counts window. The window displays the current counts of key types that qualify for the Triple Key Award (TKA).
The numbers displayed may be confusing. The following will, hopefully, explain their behavior.
While chasing the Triple Key Award (TKA) you need to pay attention to the rule that requires that ALL members logged must be different/distinct/unique. That means that if you log a QSO with AC2C using a straight key and later log another QSO with AC2C using a sideswiper, you can use either the straighht key QSO or the sideswiper QSO, but not both.
When analyzing your log and a duplicate is found, the processor needs to pick which key type to use for the award. The goal is to maximize ALL key type counts, so the processor uses the key type that has the least usage.
In the case above, for example, if you had 25 straight key QSOs an 15 sideswiper QSOs, the processor will use the sideswiper QSO to maximize the sideswiper type count. This explains why, your key counts may actually decrease as you use different key types.
